My expertise is in digital communications: that was a focus of my electronics engineering degree and it’s something I’ve always been interested in. Thanks to smart devices in our home lives, people are becoming more aware of how we can use data from sensors, and that’s exactly what I do: show people what they can do with their ‘blue boxes’! It’s about getting the most accurate data out of our kit and using it in the right way to make processes better.
Over the years I’ve become really good at listening to customers and understanding their issues. I get a lot out of solving problems and designing solutions as well. Remote monitoring is a good example – there are lots of ways we can help remotely including gathering data and offering support.
The main thing I do for customers is offer them visibility - of the product in their tanks, energy monitoring, diagnostics … you can’t make smarter decisions without data! But we also provide the expertise to know what to do with it.
